ESL Ministry

While immigration may seem to many like a hot-button political topic, we take it as an opportunity to do what we are called to do—take care of those in need and extend unconditional love.

An estimated one in seven people who reside in the United States is from another nation, and millions of these immigrants have limited English proficiency. This year approximately 50% of the students at our nearest local elementary school (Riveroaks) are from families where English is not the language of the home.

Can you imagine what it would be like to leave everything you’ve known and live in a place that was completely foreign? We seek to make a difference in the lives of immigrants in our own neighborhood-whether they are professionals, students or refugees.

We teach English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to help meet immigrants’ basic needs and share the hope of the gospel with them. If you would also like to help teach ESL learners, let us know!

We meet on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm for a free meal in the fellowship hall and start classes and kids ministry at 6:00 pm and end at 7:00 pm.
